About the Transforming Construction Alliance
The construction sector needs to transform the way buildings are designed, manufactured, integrated and connected within the built environment to create high performing assets. The Transforming Construction Alliance will enable a structural change programme to deliver this, through an evidence based and demonstrated set of activities, including:
- A complete understanding of the market opportunities
- Sets of tools for industry to enable a step change in productivity
- Fully relevant and proportionate standards
- Real-life exemplars
The alliance will do this through its existing network leverage; building on the existing community, academia, industry and research; building on existing capacity; utilising and learning best practice from other specialist sectors.
We have established connections across government, industry and academia and are well connected to most other industry networks. Each centre within the alliance can demonstrate strong, authoritative and independent capability and relevant, complementary competences that can be scaled up as required to deliver the programme.
The alliance will deliver the structural change programme to fully support the announced Construction Sector Deal to substantially boost the sector’s productivity, and maximise its export potential. This will also reduce the environmental impact, improve the efficiency and reduce whole life cost of new projects and buildings to help build the houses, schools, hospitals and major transport projects needed.
